Gynecological Endoscopy (Laparoscopy – Hysteroscopy)

Endoscopy in gynecology is used for various diagnostic interventional laparoscopies and hysteroscopies. During laparoscopy, the gynecologist, using a micro camera inserted through tiny incisions in the abdomen, examines the ovaries, the fallopian tubes and the uterus, and can invasively treat endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, remove uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts, open up tubal adhesions etc. During  hysteroscopy, with the insertion of a micro camera through the vagina, the doctor examines the uterine cavity, collects material from its surface for biopsy and performs minor surgery.
