Urological surgeon
Dr. Andreou studied Medicine in France (Université Necker – Paris V), where he specialised in General Surgery, Urology, Urodynamics and Laparoscopy and received his Ph. D. Degree (Hôpital Universitaire de Rouen and Hôpital Foch – Paris V).
As a urological surgeon he started specialising in laparoscopic surgery as early as 2000 and received his University Laparoscopy Diploma from the University of Strasbourg in France. In 2001 he began his training in robotic surgery using the first internationally used device, namely robot Aesop, in France. Dr. Andreou is a certified robotic surgeon for the da Vinci® system by Intuitive Surgical U.S.A.
He received further training in major laparoscopic and robotic surgery for prostate cancer at Foch Hospital (Pr. Botto), at Bordeaux (Dr. Gaston), at Montsouris (Pr. Vallancien), at Creteil (Pr. Abbou) in France, as well as at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Center in New York under Professors Guillauneau and Scardino.
In 2005 Dr. Andreou treated Prostate Cancer cases using HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound), while, in the same year, he specialised in the use of laser for the management of prostate hyperplasia (Green light) and lithiases (Holmium).
He served as a member of the Transplantation Team (2006- 2009) at Foch Hospital in Paris, a centre with 120 procedures a year; of these, Dr. Andreas Andreou performed more than 60 kidney transplantations.
As a specialised urologist Dr. Andreou held the post of Chef de Clinique for three years at Rouen University Urology Clinics and at Foch Hospital in Paris, where he performed more than 1,600 procedures as chief surgeon and managed particularly serious cases, mainly using laparoscopic techniques.
Dr. Andreou returned to Thessaloniki, Greece, where he works as a urological surgeon; his name has been associated with the first robotic inguinal lymphadenectomy in Europe for the treatment of locally advanced penile cancer (the case was presented at the International Robotic Surgery Conference in Cyprus) as well as with the first robotic procedure in Thessaloniki for the treatment of localised prostate cancer, which was broadcast live (presented as a training seminar at the Macedonian Urological Symposium).
Dr. Andreou has participated as an expert in numerous international and Greek medical conferences, and co-authored research papers, international publications and presentations.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER
After he received his specialisation, Dr. Andreou worked for three years, as a qualified urologist, serving the post of Chef de Clinique at Rouen University Urology Clinics with Professor GRISE, as well as at FOCH Hospital in Paris with Professors BOTTO and LEBRET.
During this period Dr. Andreou attended to around 5,000 patients and performed 1,600 procedures, including 60 kidney transplantations; he treated particularly serious cases, mainly using laparoscopic techniques.
Since 2010 he has been living and working in Thessaloniki, where he operates as a private practitioner at the Interbalkan Medical Centre.
FURTHER TRAINING – CONFERENCES – DAY COURSES
On 4/11/11 Dr. Andreou performed a Robotic radical prostatectomy using the Da Vinci® Robot system, in the context of the Macedonian Urology Symposium; the procedure was broadcast live at the congress auditorium.
On 30/11/2012 Dr. Andreou presented the first Robotic inguinal lymphadenectomy at the International Congress of Robotic Surgery in Limassol (SEERSS).
He organised and participated as a Laparoscopy Expert in 2 training seminars for Greek Urologists at FOCH Hospital in Paris: 11-12/06/2008 and 7-8/10/2009, where he performed a demonstration laparoscopic nephrectomy, a laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and a laparoscopic total cystectomy with orthotopic neobladder.

Закончил медицинский институт в Париже (Universite Necker-Paris V). Прошел специализацию по общей хирургии, урологии и лапароскопии, а также получил степень кандидата медицинских наук ( hospital Universitaire de Rouen eae Hopital Foch-Paris V).
Будучи хирургом- урологом с 2000 года прошел повышение квалификации по лапороскопической хирургии и получил дипломом по лапороскопии от университета г. Страсбурга Франции. С 2001г. повышение квалификации по робот-ассистированным оперативным вмешательствам на первой международной установке Aesop во Франции. Сертифицирован в области роботизированной системы DA Vinci от института хирургии в США.
Прошел квалификацию в крупных центрах лапороскопической и роботизированной хирургии по лечению рака предстательной железы, в таких как больница Foch (Pr Botto), Bordeaux (Dr Gaston), Montsouris (Pr Vallancien), Creteil (Pr Abbou) Франции и Memorial Sloan-Kettering Center в Нью Йорке под руководством профессоров Guillauneau и Scardino.

Вернулся в г. Салоники и работает как хирург- уролог. Его имя связано с первой осуществленной робот-ассистированной операцией в Европе, по паховой лимфаденэктомии для лечения прогрессирующего рака полового члена, которая была представлена на международном симпозиуме по роботизированной системе хирургии на Кипре. Также принимал участие в впервые проведенной в городе Салоники робот-ассистистированной операции по поводу местно локализованного рака предстательной железы с прямой трансляцией (было представлено на семинаре урологического симпозиума Македонии).
Участие в качестве эксперта на многочисленных международных и греческих конференциях, исследовательских работах и международных публикациях и презентациях.
